In Spoleto's centre, a few steps of principal attraction: Piazza del Mercato, Roman Druso's Arch, Piazza del Duomo, Rocca Albornoziana, Caio Melisso Theatre.
More than any Umbrian city, Speleto has a remarkable past, with a typical medieval structure and elements that reflect the Roman, Lombard and Carolingian influences. Many of the old streets are still cobbled, and in some of them charming details such as the old streets lanterns and shop fronts have been retained. You breathe a magical and spiritual atmosphere. As the great poet Shelley said:"the most romantic city I ever saw".
It's possible to do trekking, rafting, byke tours, horses and to assist to many cultural events.
Events
"Festival dei due mondi" held in Spoleto (Italy) in June and July. It's an international event of music, art, culture and entertainment, characterized by the originality, and sometimes the exclusivity of the shows proposed. The Festival of Spoleto, so re-called, has always tried to propose the new shows and art but also to respect the classical tradition.
"Estate Spoletina" in August. Interesting manifestation of art, cinema and music show.
"Teatro Lirico Sperimentale", headquarters of experimental opera season, in September.
